چکیده
This paper presents a research through design exploration using tangible interactions in order to seamlessly integrate technology historical house museum. The study addresses longstanding concern museum exhibition that interactive technologies may distract from the artifacts on display. Through an iterative process including user studies, co-creation workshop with staff and several prototypes, we developed installation called Diary of Niels combines physical objects, RFID sensors elaborate fiction facilitate increased visitor engagement. Insights tests indicate integration is meaningful engaging for users, helps introduce visitors historic theme meaning artifacts. also points continued challenges integrating such hybrid experiences fully rest exhibition.

متن کاملAffective affordances: Improving interface character engagement through interaction
The nature of humans interacting with interface characters (e.g., embodied agents) is not well understood. The I-PEFiC model provides an integrative perspective on human-character interaction, assuming that the processes of engagement and user interaction exchange information in explaining user responses with interface characters. An experiment using the Sims2-game was conducted to test the eff...
متن کاملFacilitating Learning Through Hands-on Engagement With Virtual Museum Artefacts
In collaborative museum learning contexts, it is problematic that groups of museum visitors are not able able to touch, handle, and pass museum artefacts around during collaborative discussions. This can be due to the fragility of the artefacts themselves or due to the people discussing them being in different locations. Interacting with virtual representations of artefacts is a solution to the...

This paper presents a system that supports the exploration of digital representations of large-scale museum artifacts in through non-instrumented, location-based interaction. The system employs a state-of-the-art computer vision system, which localizes and tracks multiple visitors. The artifact is presented in a wall-sized projection screen and it is visually annotated with text and images acco...
متن کاملOn Making Engagement Tangible
In this article the complexity of the construct engagement and three theories on this topic are discussed. Csikszentmihalyi's theory of flow is taken as starting point for the measurement of engagement. The measurement of each of its eight aspects is discussed, including its pros and cons. Regrettably, no overarching computational model is available. This article ends with a concise discussion.
